Edinburgh police erect cordon near cemetery as officer stands guard

Police Scotland have erected a cordon outside of Calton Cemetery and Calton Road.

Images shared with Edinburgh Live show an officer standing guard outside of the entrance to Calton Cemetery by Regent Road.

An eye witness said they also spotted a cordon erected around Calton Road at around 10pm on Friday June 27.

It is not known the exact nature of the incident.

“I was walking by when I saw the entrance to Calton Cemetery off Regent road was completely taped off and pedestrians weren’t allowed in," an eyewitness said.

"An officer was stationed at the entrance in front of the tape to keep people out.
