Lewis Capaldi's emotional Glastonbury return captured as fans gush pride
Lewis Capaldi took a break from music after he experienced severe Tourette's syndrome symptoms during his 2023 performance.
The West Lothian singer has an army of loyal fans, many of whom carried him through that difficult moment two years ago on the Somerset Glastonbury stage, and it seems nothing has changed.
Taking to X, the Scottish hero, adored for his down to earth persona, posted: "Glastonbury it’s so incredible to be back, thank you so much for having me x"
Capaldi also shared a video which showed his 2023 performance where he struggled to belt out 'Someone You Loved' before it transitioned to his incredible secret slot performance on Friday June 27.
The beloved musician appeared to become emotional as once again his fans serenaded the singer with his own lyrics - thousands upon thousands of his fans could be seen stretching back from the Pyramid Stage on Worthy Farm.

One fan wrote: "So very proud of you."
While another added: "You rock Lewis! So proud of you!"
In a more heartfelt tribute, one fan shared how the singer had become a role model for her son who also lives with Tourette's, she said: "My son has Tourette’s. He’s a blonde haired, blue eyed boy who looks a lot like you.
"He’s 15 and one of your biggest fans, especially since he learned about the burden you share. My mother-heart is grateful he has a hero.
"I cry every time I see the 2023 video. And yes, I’m crying now too… but I have a smile that’s even bigger.
"I’m so glad to see you’re doing well. Trust me when I say, I understand how hard that is.
"Thank you for being you, and being a light in this world for my child. Bless you."
Last night, Lewis posted for the first time this year with a snippet to his new song. In the tune, Lewis references his mental health challenges and feelings of self-doubt and despair.
He sings: “How long ‘til it feels like I’m more than a spoke in a wheel?

“Most nights I fear that I’m not enough. I’ve had my share of Monday mornings when I can’t get up. But when hope is lost and I come undone, I swear to God I’ll survive. If it kills me to, I’m gonna get up and try, if it’s the last thing I do.
‘I’ve still got something to give. Though it hurts sometimes, I’m gonna get up and live. Until the day that I die.”
Fans are certainly happy to see the star back on the biggest of stages.
