Jet2 Edinburgh passengers 'land 700 miles away from city' after diversion

A Jet2 flight to Edinburgh was forced to make a 700-mile diversion to Geneva on Wednesday.

Flight LS3922 left Malta at 11.45am on June 25 and was set to land in Edinburgh at 2.45pm. However, the aircraft made an unexpected diversion to Geneva.

According to Jet2's Travel Information page, the flight landed in the Swiss city at 1.06pm. Passengers finally arrived in Edinburgh at 10.19pm after leaving Geneva at 9.20pm.

The circumstances behind the diversion is not clear at this time.

Jet2 have been approached for comment.

We have previously reported on a number of Jet2 flights being diverted over the past few months.

On May 5, a Jet2 Edinburgh flight declared a mid-air emergency and was forced to divert. The plane was set depart at 6.15am and arrive in Rome later in the day.

It took off at around 6.50am but issued a 700 squawk code shortly after.The LS3915 flight saw the pilot declare an emergency around 30 minutes into the journey
