Wars of Scottish Independence 1296 - 1357 - British History
The Wars of Scottish Independence had two stages lasting from 1296-1328 and 1332 - 1357. They concerned the maintenance of Scottish independence from the English under Edward I at first and then followed on by Edward II and Edward III. It led to crucial battles in Scottish history such as the Battle of Bannockburn 1314 and the Battle of Stirling Bridge 1297. It also revealed some of the main protagonists in Scottish history like Robert Bruce, William Wallace and David II.
